Romelu Lukaku set for Inter return as Chelsea agree to €8 million loan fee

Inter will re-sign Romelu Lukaku on loan after his failed first year at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues club-record signing for £100 million ($136m) will leave for just an €8m (£7m/$8m) loan fee with the potential to earn more through performance-related add-ons.

Lukaku hired a lawyer especially to force the transfer and will take a pay cut to ensure his return to San Siro.
Todd Boehly has prioritised the negotiations around Lukaku to kickstart Chelsea's summer.

The Blues were keen to get his club-high £325,000-a-week wages off their books after a breakdown in the relationship between the striker and manager Thomas Tuchel.

This is despite Chelsea effectively paying Lukaku to play for Inter with yearly installments on his transfer set at €23m (£20m/$24m).

Roc Nation, the sports agency owned by Jay-Z, helped facilitate talks which involved their client, Lukaku, and Boehly, who they've worked with extensively in the past.

The deal shows that Boehly and the new Blues consortium are fully backing Tuchel despite the costs.

Chelsea will now look to add a new attacking signing with Manchester City's Raheem Sterling thought to be a frontrunner to come to west London.

There's an in-house option for Southampton loanee Armando Broja but he is attracting interest from West Ham over a £30m ($37m) transfer.

The No. 9 failed to adapt to life under Tuchel, who places huge demands to press on his forwards.

Unfortunately, that wasn't Lukaku's strength, which saw Tuchel ultimately not use the Belgium international as much as he wanted.

The inability of either player or coach to adapt ultimately led to an unsanctioned interview by Lukaku, which served to alienate him from supporters.

That breakdown in the relationship was never repaired but Lukaku still ended the season as Chelsea's top scorer with 15 goals.

He scored a creditable 0.45 goals per 90 minutes but it wasn't enough to say he properly adapted to the style of play under Tuchel.

A lawsuit filed by a man seeking to be compensated by St Mary's Mission Hospital in Kenya for allowing his wife to leave the hospital with another man after giving birth, has been struck out by a law court. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed is presiding over the 7-man panel that will hear the appeals filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the February 23 poll. FRSC reinforces directive on use of google maps while driving

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has clarified its position on the use of Google Maps, The FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ayuba Gora was quoted saying that driving with the aid of Google map using mobile phones is a serious traffic offence. Gora said this at the inauguration of the 2019 Ember Months Campaign by Lugbe Unit Command of the FRSC in Abuja yesterday. But, FRSC Spokesman Bisi Kazeem making reference to Gora’s comments said the Sector Commander was quoted out of context and his statement outrightly misrepresented.
