Campus journalist detained over criticism article

A Mass Communication student Emmanuel Babalola of Gaposa who wrote a journal about the maltreatment given to Sowore sometime ago before his release. The story was published on the school journal and it led to the HOD's dismissal and some other school staffs.

The student had since then been facing various harassment on grounds that the school rector claimed he wrote against APC government which he belongs to one politically.
Emmanuel was recently arrested by some set of people who claimed to be NAPS with a Police officer accompanied by some cultists, it is believed that this was organized by the school Rector who is always mistreating the students and vandalising the school Staffs.

Though Babalola was briefly moved to the DSS office at the Remo area of Ogun State, he was then paraded at the Magistrate Court, Abeokuta, from where he was remanded at Ibara Maximum Prison on a six-count charge of alleged breach of public peace and incitement of violence to which he pleaded not guilty.

The judge however, granted Babalola bail on a bond of N150,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until January 27 for hearing.

Babalola’s lawyer Inibehe Effiong also confirmed the development in a set of tweets on Friday.

Nigeria’s first female banker, Sarah Morocco-Clarke is dead

Sarah Adenike Morocco-Clarke, Nigeria’s first female banker is dead. Morocco-Clarke died at the age of 80 on Sunday, 16 September 2018, after a short illness. Sarah Morocco-Clarke, an alumnus of Queen’s College Lagos, started her career with First Bank (then Bank of British West Africa, and subsequently Standard Bank) as a pioneer female employee, and rose through the ranks at First Bank Nigeria and was made the Services Manager and Secretary to the South Administration, wherein she had a mandate that covered the services of all the First Bank branches in Southern Nigeria. While she worked in the banking industry, she was manager of numerous First Bank branches in Lagos and was subsequently made a Regional Manager in charge of Bendel, Ogun and Oyo states. She was also an Area Manager in the Western part of Nigeria. Popularly known as the ‘Iron Lady, Morocco-Clarke leaves behind six successful children, thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BBNaija winner, Miracle, gets Pilot license
