Meek Mill and Jay Z launch Dream Chasers record label under Roc Nation

American Music tycoon, Jay-Z and Philly born rapper Meek Mill have announced they are getting into business together by bringing Meek’s Dream Chasers label into the Roc Nation fold.

The pair signed papers on Tuesday in New York City in front of a small media gathering at Roc Nation’s midtown headquarters.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the rapper says that the “extra seven years” since the original venture have given him a fresh perspective and a time to “grow in business, period.” “I think the time is now,” Meek says. “I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I think it’s time for me to focus on growing artists because that’s what I love to do. I love to spend time on helping artists grow, and I think it’s time for me to dive in, business-wise.”

As president of the Dream Chasers label under the Roc Nation brand, Meek will oversee a team in a corporate New York office and also help operate a recording studio for the label’s artists.

On Meek Mill’s new record label at Roc Nation, Jay-Z said: “The overall and overarching view is for us to boss up and do things together and pull each other up and get control of the things that we produce.”

Sharing the news on Instagram, Meek also wrote: 'Dream Chasers Records x @rocnation official joint venture label “Black entrepreneur, nobody did us no favors...Nobody gave us shit, WE MADE US” - HOV.'

A lawsuit filed by a man seeking to be compensated by St Mary's Mission Hospital in Kenya for allowing his wife to leave the hospital with another man after giving birth, has been struck out by a law court.    The appellant had sued the St. Mary's Mission hospital at Kakamega law courts in 2020 seeking general damages from the facility on grounds that the hospital had discharged his wife and allowed her to leave with another man. Togo prime Minister Komi Klassou resigns

Togo’s prime minister and his government have resigned, the West African nation’s presidency said late Friday. President Faure Gnassingbe congratulated prime minister Komi Selom Klassou and his team for their “economic, political and social efforts and the encouraging results despite the health crisis around the world”, a statement on the presidency’s official website said. Togo has been due for a political reshuffle since Gnassingbe was reelected in February for a fourth term in office, but changes were delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. The president’s election win, which came after a constitutional change allowing him to run, extended more than a half-century of dynastic rule over the former French colony by the Gnassingbe family. The victory was disputed by the main opposition challenger, who has faced official harassment in the wake of the vote. The president has led the country of eight million people since taking over in 2005 following the death of his father Gnass...
