The Accidental Spy’ Hits Cinemas Nationwide From Dec 1

Coming on the heels of the success of their box office hits, Peekaboo Productions, the producers of 30 Days in Atlanta, A Trip to Jamaica and 10 days in Sun City are set to unveil their December offering, titled ‘The Accidental Spy’.

Filled with intrigue, action, drama, and rib-cracking comedy, ‘The Accidental Spy’ tells the story of IT specialist, Emmanuel Prince, who gets blindsided by his cheating girlfriend. When Prince travels to London and signs up for a reality show to take his mind off his recent woes, he unwittingly gets caught in the middle of a plot by a powerful Nigerian criminal cartel.

A co-production of Peekaboo Productions and Corporate World Entertainment, the film sees AY and Ramsey Nouah, the award-winning duo from 30 Days in Atlanta back in the saddle with diversely talented cast such as Alibaba (The Wedding Party), Emma Oh My God (The Wedding Party), Rahama Sadau (TATU), David Jones David (Hotel Majestic), Bucci Franklin (Jemeji), Bryan Okwara, Hollywood actor, Miguel Nunez Jr. (Juwana Man), South African star, Thenjiwe Moseley (10 Days In Sun City), and British debutante, Christine Allado, to name a few.

Lead writer and producer, Darlington Abuda had this to say about his latest creation: “The Accidental Spy is a labour of love and I can’t think of a better way to enter the December festive season. I am indeed elated by the fact that movie-lovers across Nigeria and in various other territories are going to enjoy this potpourri of love, laughter and action. We shot the movie with the mindset of giving Nigerians an awesome cinematic experience. I’ve always wanted to make a film in London. It’s obviously one of the great cities of the world, and when you make a film in a foreign city you get a chance to really experience and imbibe their culture.”

The Accidental Spy is pegged as a certain box office hit for Peekaboo Production, Corporate World Entertainment Limited , especially with FilmOne Distribution Limited, Nigeria’s fastest growing film distribution company and the distributors of The Wedding Party, 10 Days In Sun City, A Trip to Jamaica, Fifty, Wives on Strike and Ghana Must Go, handling the film’s release.
Moses Babatope, Group Executive Director and COO of FilmOne, shared his excitement on the project, saying “We are delighted to partner with Corporate World Entertainment on yet another film that is sure to set the Nigerian box office alight. The movie was shot on location in lagos, London and Amsterdam, and is set to hit cinemas across Nigeria from December 1, 2017.

Nigeria’s first female banker, Sarah Morocco-Clarke is dead

Sarah Adenike Morocco-Clarke, Nigeria’s first female banker is dead. Morocco-Clarke died at the age of 80 on Sunday, 16 September 2018, after a short illness. Sarah Morocco-Clarke, an alumnus of Queen’s College Lagos, started her career with First Bank (then Bank of British West Africa, and subsequently Standard Bank) as a pioneer female employee, and rose through the ranks at First Bank Nigeria and was made the Services Manager and Secretary to the South Administration, wherein she had a mandate that covered the services of all the First Bank branches in Southern Nigeria. While she worked in the banking industry, she was manager of numerous First Bank branches in Lagos and was subsequently made a Regional Manager in charge of Bendel, Ogun and Oyo states. She was also an Area Manager in the Western part of Nigeria. Popularly known as the ‘Iron Lady, Morocco-Clarke leaves behind six successful children, thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

FRSC reinforces directive on use of google maps while driving

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has clarified its position on the use of Google Maps, The FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ayuba Gora was quoted saying that driving with the aid of Google map using mobile phones is a serious traffic offence. Gora said this at the inauguration of the 2019 Ember Months Campaign by Lugbe Unit Command of the FRSC in Abuja yesterday. But, FRSC Spokesman Bisi Kazeem making reference to Gora’s comments said the Sector Commander was quoted out of context and his statement outrightly misrepresented. Kazeem said the FRSC as a technology-driven organisation is not and has never stood against the use of Google Maps by Motorists.
