Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has, yesterday added to his huge silverware collection after winning the Serie A Best Player award at the Gran Gala del Calcio.
The legendary Italian picked up the award for his performances during the 2016-17 season at a star-studded ceremony in Milan yesterday, organized by the Italian Football Federation.
It was another brilliant night for Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus side as they dominated the Serie A awards ceremony at the Megawatt Court.
Seven players from Juventus’ Serie A winning side from last season made the 2016-17 Team of the Year, including Buffon, Dani Alves, Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro, Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.
The other four announced in the highly decorated team included Kalidou Koulibaly, Radja Nainggolan, Marek Hamsik and Dries Mertens.
Furthermore, the Old Lady also secured the Best Club prize for the sixth straight season just a day after their comfortable 3-0 victory over Crotone in Serie A.
Juventus currently sit third in the Italian top flight, four points behind league leaders Napoli after their opening 14 matches.
And the two sides meet in a mouth-watering clash on Friday night at Stadio San Paolo, with Juventus desperately looking to close the gap.
And their next Serie A clash doesn’t get any easier as they take on Inter Milan, who sit two points above Juventus in second.
