 The U.S Food and Drug Administration  is planning to require tobacco companies to slash the amount of nicotine in traditional cigarettes to make them less addictive, a move intended to reduce smoking, according to a notice posted Tuesday on a U.S. government website. According to the notice, “this proposed rule is a tobacco product standard that would establish a maximum nicotine level in cigarettes and certain finished tobacco products. Because tobacco-related harms primarily result from addiction to products that repeatedly expose users to toxins, F.D.A. would take this action to reduce addictiveness to certain tobacco products, thus giving addicted users a greater ability to quit.” The proposal would put the United States at the forefront of global antismoking efforts by taking an aggressive stance at significantly lowering nicotine levels.   South Korea has announced that it successfully launched a small but working satellite into orbit using its first homemade rocket on ​Tuesday, bringing the country closer to its dream of becoming a new player in the space industry and deploying its own spy satellites to better monitor North Korea. The three-stage Nuri rocket, built by the government’s Korea Aerospace Research Institute ​together with hundreds of local companies, ​blasted off from the Naro Space Center in Goheung​ on the southwestern tip of South Korea at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Seventy minutes after the​ liftoff, South Korea announced that ​Nuri had succeeded in its mission of ​thrusting a ​357-pound ​working ​satellite, as well as a 1.3-ton dummy satellite​, into orbit ​435 miles above the Earth.   Newly promoted Premier League club, Nottingham Forest are closing in on the club-record signing to bring Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi back to England.  Awoniyi who plays for German side Union Berlin is ready to move to the Premier League in a deal that will cost about £17.5million. The super eagles striker,  24, who joined Liverpool in 2015 and had loan spells at six different clubs without making the breakthrough at Anfield,  scored 15 goals to help Union Berlin punch above their weight in the Bundesliga last season.  There are also reports that Liverpool are entitled to a percentage of any transfer fee, as part of his move to Union for nearly £6m last summer. Awoniyi was also part of the Nigerian squad that crashed out at the second round stage of the AFCON that was held earlier this year in Cameroon. The 2013 U-17 World Champion is expected help to Steve Cooper’s side avoid an immediate return to the Championship when he joins the club. 

  Cambodian villagers on the Mekong River have caught what researchers say is the world's biggest freshwater fish ever recorded, a stingray that weighed in at 661 pounds (about 300 kilograms). The gigantic fish took around a dozen men to haul to shore. Named Boramy -- meaning "full moon" in the Khmer language -- because of her bulbous shape, the four-meter (13-foot) female was released back into the river after being electronically tagged to allow scientists to monitor her movement and behavior. "This is very exciting news because it was the world's largest (freshwater) fish," said biologist Zeb Hogan, ex-host of the "Monster Fish" show on the National Geographic Channel and now part of Wonders of the Mekong, a conservation project on the river. "It is also exciting news because it means that this stretch of the Mekong is still healthy.... It is a sign of hope that these huge fish still live (here)."  X Factor singer Tom Mann has been left broken after his fiancée Dani died moments before their wedding ceremony. Tom, who appeared on the X Factor singing show in 2014, announced the sad news of his partner's death on social media. The couple share an eight-month-old son together. He wrote in a heart-breaking post that he had lost the "love of his life" on what should have been the happiest day of their lives. Tom declared that his fiancee was the "best thing to have ever happened" to him and that he would continue to wear his engagement ring as a "sign of unconditional love" for her. He added that he will raise their son as a single dad and hopes he will make her proud.   60-year-old Matrix star, Laurence Fishburne has said that he is open to the idea of getting back in the dating scene. Speaking to Page Six at the Tribeca Festival, Fishburne disclosed that there's no one on his radar at the moment. He said;      “Eventually I would like to date, but there is nobody in particular on my radar.” Recently, his 15-year-old daughter, Delilah, has been his date. Delilah went to the 2022 Tony Awards with her father earlier this month and also walked the red carpet for the premiere of his documentary “The Cave of Adullam,” which is about four young boys at a martial arts academy in Detroit. The “Matrix” star, 60, was married to “Suits” alum Gina Torres for 16 years, but the pair divorced in May 2018.  Sadio Mane is in Munich to undergo a medical ahead of his €41 million (£35m/$43m) transfer from Liverpool to Bayern - with sporting director of the Bundesliga champions, Hasan Salihamidzic, having confirmed that the forward will be joining the ranks at the Allianz Arena. Liverpool will receive a €32m (£27m/$34m) fixed fee for the Senegal international, with a further €6m (£5m/$6m) available based on appearances and €3m depending on individual and team achievements.
