South Africa bans sale of live hens in the country until further notice

South Africa has banned the sale of live hens nationwide in a bid to control an outbreak of highly contagious bird flu which was confirmed at a farm in Mpumalanga, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced Sunday. ‘’We have placed a general ban on the sale of live hens across the country until further notice,’’ department spokesperson Bomikazi Molapo said. This was after a highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N8 was confirmed in a broiler breeder site in Mpumalanga on Thursday, June 22. HPAI is a rapidly spreading viral disease that can infect many types of birds and it is highly contagious. “It exists naturally in many birds and can be transmitted by coming into contact with infected animals or through ingestion of infected food or water,’’ the department explained. During Justine Kish’s fight against Felice Herrig at UFC Fight 112 on Saturday, Kish was put in a submission that made her bowels fail. Herrig was able to pick up the win after the fight went all three rounds, but it almost came to an end sooner in the third round when she locked Kish in a rear-naked choke. Kish did not tap out but she ended up defecating right in the middle of the ring. The poop wasn’t discovered by referees during the fight else the fight would’ve been stopped immediately. After the fight, Kish embraced the moment on Twitter, acknowledging what happened in a “s--t happens” hashtag.

Trump blasts CNN as ‘fake news’ after it retracts story

CNN’s decision to retract a story published last week tying a member of President Donald Trump’s transition team to ongoing Russia investigations offered the president an opportunity Tuesday morning to attack perhaps his favorite media target, which he labeled “fake news” and questioned for publishing “phony stories.” The story in question, published late last week, reported that the Senate Intelligence Committee was investigating the head of a Russian investment fund who met before the inauguration with Anthony Scaramucci, a financier and high-profile member of Trump’s transition team. CNN also reported that the Senate committee was looking into whether or not Scaramucci had suggested that sanctions against Russia might soon be lifted. Ikeme eager to return to Eagles

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme is eager to make a return to the Nigeria national team after being sidelined by injury in recent weeks. Nigerian rapper, Sauce kid jailed after pleading guilty to aggravated identity theft charges

Babalola femi popularly known as sauce kid, sinzu has been sentenced to 2 years in federal prison after stealing $15,3888 during a visit last summer to the treasure Valley. He got stolen card numbers and Identifying info for their owners and encoded the account numbers on blank plastic cards. He collected money from bank ATMS and bought merchandise from stores between July 23 and 26. He was arrested at the Boise Airport as he was about to board a flight, a card encoding device was found on him with about $6000 in cash. Sinzu was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, 8 counts each of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft with possession of more than 15 fraudulent bank cards. He then pleaded guilty to one of the aggravated identity theft and in exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors wiped out other charges. Senior U.S District Judge Edward Lodge has placed him on one year of supervised release after he had completed his jail term.
