Kenyan woman poisons her two children, attempts suicide after being told to end incestuous relationship with uncle

A 27-year-old woman in Machakos County, Kenya was arraigned in court on Monday, July 19, for allegedly poisoning her two children aged 6 and 5, killing one of them. Mary Nduku, a mother of three, reportedly committed the act on Saturday evening, July 17, after she was confronted by her parents who demanded that she ends an incestious relationship with her 29-year-old uncle. The woman allegedly fed her two children with pesticides used for spraying on livestock, in a plan aimed at killing them before committing suicide. Her father Nicodemus Mwikya said his daughter had a trend of disappearing for years without a trace only to come back home carrying a child. "My daughter gave birth to the firstborn and left for 4yrs without a trace, She came back with the second born, now the deceased, and again went away for another four years. Florida man who carried a Trump flag through the Senate gets 8 months in prison

A Florida man who was seen carrying a large red "Trump 2020" flag on the floor of the U.S. Senate during the Capitol riot has been sentenced to prison for eight months in the first felony sentence from the Jan. 6 attack. Paul Allard Hodgkins, 38, of Tampa, was arrested back in February after the FBI received a tip identifying him among the hundreds of people seen in photos and videos inside the Capitol. He pleaded guilty in June to a single felony count of obstructing an official proceeding, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. "Although you were only one member of a larger mob, you actively participated in a larger event that threatened the Capitol and democracy itself," said U.S. District Court Judge Randolph Moss of Washington on Monday. "The damage that was caused that way was way beyond a several-hour delay of the vote certification," Moss said. "It is a damage that will persist in this country for several decades." Ho

Yoruba nation chief agitator, Sunday Igboho reportedly arrested in Cotonou

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic.  Igboho who will be repatriated to Nigeria on Tuesday July 20 from the neighboring country, was arrested at an airport in Cotonou three weeks after the Department of State Services declared him wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms. It was further learnt that his destination was Germany.  A source privy to this told Sahara Reporters;  "Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Cotonou. He was arrested about an hour ago. "He was supposed to travel to Germany through Cotonou this night. He wanted to leave Africa through Cotonou. He was arrested by security operatives in Cotonou. "They are planning to bring him back to Nigeria." Court grant's bail to arrested 49 yoruba nation agitators

  49 Yoruba Nation agitators have been granted bail by a Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State following their arrest.  Yoruba self-determination groups’ umbrella body Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO) who rose in defence of those arrested, said motion for their bail application was filed by human rights lawyers led by Olasupo Ojo and Oladapo Kayode. IOO’s Media Communications Secretary, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye said the agitators are to provide 300, 000 naira with two sureties each. Adeleye said;  “One of the sureties must be a family member and the other a community leader or clergy with proof of tax payment." Among those granted bail are Olasunkanmi Tanimola; Kabiru Lawanson; Chinemerem Emmanuel; Rasaki Musibau; Lukman Olalade; Olasanmi Oladipupo; Bashiru Shittu; Taofeek Abdusalam; Olamilekan Abata; Abdullahi Sikiru; Tosin Adeleye; Babatunde Lawal. Pedro Castillo wins Peru’s presidential election

School teacher, Pedro Castillo has been declared Peru’s president-elect, six weeks after elections during which the results were delayed by claims of electoral fraud from his right-wing rival, Keiko Fujimori. Jorge Luis Salas, head of the JNE elections jury, announced his victory in a brief virtual ceremony on Monday night, July 19. Castillo, 51 is the head of the Teacher's trade unionist. He becomes the first non-rich president of Peru. Arsenal completes Albert Sambi Lokonga signing from Anderlecht

Arsenal seem to be busy this summer as they have completed the transfer of Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £18million. The 21-year-old joins Arsenal on a long-term contract after making 78 appearances for the Belgian club, where he played under former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.   "It's a big move because I have been playing for Anderlecht for 10 years so it's going to be my first big move to another country," Lokonga told Arsenal's website.
